Obedience Training
Basic, intermediate and advanced obedience training classes are designed to promote a healthy and balanced relationship between you and your dog. Our methods are fast, effective and easy to learn. And because our techniques utilize your dogs natural instincts, your dog will learn the commands and behaviors faster than with other less behavior-oriented methods. This approach helps your dog respond, respect and bond to you.
Behavior Modification
We approach your dog's behavior issues by examining the stimulus and its cause, then we adjust the training accordingly. The emphasis is on nurturing a proper, balanced relationship between dog and owner. We specialize in eliminating handler aggression, dog aggression, separation anxiety, soiling the house, excessive barking, destructive behavior, nipping, chewing, jumping, running away, car sickness and breed specific problems.
Puppy Education
Supervised socialization, conditioning exercises, and drive/instinct building are essential to raising a social, well-balanced and temperamentally sound adult dog. In fact, puppy education is so powerful, that even a genetically average puppy can be transformed into a remarable working dog upon social maturity. Puppy education can also help prevent unwanted behavior and lay the foundation for a happy well-adjusted and calm adult dog.
Our Trainers:
Mandy Makein, and her dog Jack, started training dogs in 1997 at the Durendal Canine Training Studio in Plainville. After her apprenticeship with Donna Crowley, Mandy became a full-time trainer at the studio and also taught the Parks & Rec classes for the town of Plymouth. She opened the Canine Training Center in 2004. At this state licensed facility, Mandy trained approximately 75 dog/owner teams per week in group, private, aggression and behavior modification lessons. Mandy now focuses on private lessons and on-site group training at Paw Play.
Mandy and Jack's certifications include:
